For centuries, simple functional objects like pin cushions have been elevated by handcraft into everyday treasures. Salyaka continues this tradition. thoughtfully designed and skillfully made, it turns a utilitarian tool into a piece of quiet beauty.


Metal craft or the art of crafting metal into beautiful objects is based on three traditional methods
a) the hammering or beating method
b) the casting method
c) the brazing method.
In the beaten method metal is forged, in casting molten metal is poured into moulds and in brazing, pre fabricated sheets are used.
Brass metal used here is an alloy of zinc and copper.

As each handmade piece is unique it may contain slight variations in color, texture and form.
