STORY

The sangam incense holder made from a fusion of a marble ball and a rectangular brass sheet is a fine example of how different geometric shapes and materials can come together to create effective design.


Metal craft or the art of crafting metal into beautiful objects is based on three traditional methods
a) the hammering or beating method
b) the casting method
c) the brazing method.
In the beaten method metal is forged, in casting molten metal is poured into moulds and in brazing, pre fabricated sheets are used.
Brass metal used here is an alloy of zinc and copper.

As each handmade piece is unique it may contain slight variations in color, texture and form.

CARE

Wash with gentle cleanser. After washing, always air dry and store in a dry place. Brass may oxidized due to its natural properties. To remove oxidization spots, you can also use tamarind paste with salt or a combination of white vinegar and salt.
