Traditionally, handcrafted strainers were an essential part of Indian kitchens — simple tools elevated through thoughtful design. Pakshi revives this legacy, shaped with precision and care, echoing the lightness and poise of the bird it’s named after. Each piece blends craftsmanship with quiet functionality, making it both purposeful and poetic.
Metal craft or the art of crafting metal into beautiful objects is based on three traditional methods
a) the hammering or beating method
b) the casting method
c) the brazing method.
In the beaten method metal is forged, in casting molten metal is poured into moulds and in brazing, pre fabricated sheets are used.
Brass metal used here is an alloy of zinc and copper.
As each handmade piece is unique it may contain slight variations in color, texture and form.
