The surface of this bat shaped platter has been burnt to give it a dark burnished look. No polish or chemicals have been used in the manufacturing process to achieve the colors or finish, making this not only an attractive but also food safe product.


Burnt wood craft, is a creative art form that involves burning the wood surface to achieve a black hue. After the burning, the surface is then sanded with sand paper and polished with oil. This technique offers a wide range of design possibilities with the contrasting black surfaces creating interesting designs.


As each handmade piece is unique it may contain slight variations in color, texture and form.
