This unusual piece has been wheel thrown by a studio potter. The curved edges give the bowl a quaint charm and the subdued glaze adds to its elegance.


Studio pottery, is a type of pottery created by individual artists in their private studios. Unlike mass-produced pottery, it emphasizes the artistic and creative aspects of the craft. The kneaded clay is thrown on a potter’s wheel and molded into the desired shape. After drying, a glaze is applied and the product is fired at high temperatures making it sturdy.
